NOWSHERA: Two people were killed when the roof of a house collapsed in Hameed Abad village, within the jurisdiction of Nizampur Police station on Thursday.

According to details Ihsan Ullah, a resident of Akora Khattak and Usman Khan, a resident of Badraga in Malakand, were staying as guests at the house of Sareer Khan when the roof of the guest room collapsed due to heavy rains. Sub-inspector of Nizampur police station, Ayub Khan said that local people rushed to the spot and recovered both the young man from under the debris. They were rushed to district Headquarter hospital, Nowshera where they were pronounced dead.

BUNER: A woman was killed while two children and passerby was injured when the roof of a house collapsed in Dokandao, Malik Pur area of the district on Thursday. After the incident, a large number of people rushed to the house for rescue efforts. They managed to recover the two children alive however failed to rescue the woman also from under the debris.

The Station House Officer (SHO) of Pir Bala police station also reached the spot along with police constables to help the local in rescue efforts. On the direction of the deputy commissioner, Buner, Shafiullah Khan and assistant commissioner Gagra and Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) also reached the spot examine the loss incurred to the house due to 24 hours long rain.

A passerby was also injured in the incident who along with the injured children were taken to district Headquarter hospital where their condition is stated to be stable.

KARAK: Nine persons including women were injured when roofs of mud houses collapsed due to several hours long rains in the district on Thursday. The rain-related incidents are reported from Peer Mila, Tor Dhand, Tehsil Colony, Kandi Khadi Khel are of the district. In all the incidents, the local people have taken part in the rescue operation and retrieved the injured from under the debris. They were rushed to the district headquarter hospital, where four injured are stated to be in critical conditions.

According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), during the last 24 hours at least 14, including women and children, were killed and 13 others were injured in rain-related incidents in KP.

The PDMA added that it includes seven children, three women and four men died in separate in parts of the Malakand and Kohat divisions. The torrential rain, which started on Monday, also damaged properties, including nine houses, in the districts of the two affected divisions.
