Five years Insha is among the three minor girls who got wounded in IED blast in North Waziristan on Monday.

MIRAN SHAH: Three minor girls were severely injured when a toy bomb exploded in Eidak area of Mir Ali Tehsil of North Waziristan here on Monday.

Officials at the political administration said tha the children identified as Iqra 2, Hizra 3 and Insha 5 were on the hill when a toy bomb fell from the a tree and detonated near to them. As result, all of three girls sustained injuries. Locals shifted the injured children to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Mir Ali for medical treatment.

One of the injured child is said to be critical, said officials after which she was referred to Bannu hospital for treatment. Local administration has launched investigation into the incident.

Dozens of people have lost their lives in landmine blasts while hundreds are disabled including women, children and elderly people in North and South Waziristan over the last 14 years of chaos and conflict.

Clearance of landmines from across tribal areas in particular and South and North Waziristan in special is one of the demands of Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement. Thousands of Un-exploded landmines and IEDs have been left behind by militants after they were defeated and purged out by the army from the region.
