PESHAWAR, November 21: Four more cases of polio epidemic have surfaced in Peshawar and South Waziristan tribal region, raising the total number of polio-affected children to 257 in current year.
The National Institute of Health (NIH) reports that one child has been confirmed in South Waziristan and three in Peshawar.
On the other hand, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has laid emphasis on Pakistan and asked the country to eradicate the epidemic by the end of 2015.
It further documented that if Pakistan failed to do so, its citizens would be required to go through tests before travelling abroad.
Pakistani nationals have already been directed to produce polio vaccination certificates before embarking on international journey.
