WANA: Three terrorists were killed in a clash with the security forces in South Waziristan tribal district on Saturday.
Sources said a clash happened between the security forces and terrorists in Kaskai area in Sarwakai tehsil. The terrorists opened fire on the security forces and in retaliatory fire three terrorists were killed.
The slain terrorists were identified as commander Shamsuddin, commander Rehmatullah and Adil. Sources said the slain militants were affiliated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
No loss on the side of security forces was reported in the clash.
Militants were driven out from the tribal districts in military operations, but still terrorists sometimes attack the security forces from their leftover hideouts. The security forces also conduct intelligence-based operations (IBOs) after receiving credible information about presence of militants to ward off any threat of attacks.
On September 03, three soldiers, including an officer, embraced martyrdom and four others were injured when they were attacked with an improvised explosive device (IED) in North Waziristan.

On August 21, the security forces and police in their joint action in South Waziristan foiled a terrorist plot and recovered two suicide jackets.
On August 09, a soldier was injured in a remote control bomb blast in North Waziristan.
On July 23, one soldier was martyred and three others were injured in a remote control blast on a vehicle of the security forces in Mir Ali sub-division of North Waziristan.
On July 12, four soldiers were martyred and three others were injured in a clash with the security forces in North Waziristan.
