Trade activities resume in Miranshah after return of displaced people

MIRANSHAH, 26 January: Business activities are getting momentum gradually in the newly built Pakistan Market in Miranshah, the main town in North Waziristan Agency. However, the area traders have called upon the government to reconstruct Miranshah Bazaar without further delay to completely restore trade activities in North Waziristan.

Traders at Pakistan Market told TNN that they have resumed trade and other activities after returning to their native areas from displacement. They said they are making efforts for speedy progress of their business.

“We are committed to rebuild Waziristan. We are enjoying our business and our shops and businesses are progressing well,” a local trader told TNN.

Another trader said trade activities are continuing in an extremely peaceful environment.

“Everyone is very happy over peaceful environment here. No arms are seen here people do their business peacefully,” he said.

Another businessman called upon the government to establish a bus stand near Pakistan Market on priority basis. He also demanded resumption of mobile phone service in the area.

The traders said business activities will get a further boost with the opening of Ghulam Khan route. They said the area has the potential to become a centre for trade activities. They said they are enjoying their business first time in a free environment without fear of militancy.
