PESHAWAR, 15 December: After a period of six long years, the military authorities have allowed local traders of the famous Bara bazaar to come and resume their businesses.
The chief spokesman of the military DG ISPR Lf. Gen. Asim Bajwa tweeted that Bara area of the Khyber Agency had been handed over back to the civil (political) administration after clearing it from the militants and that traders could return to the area to resume their business.
The ‘tweet’ further said that majority of the tribesmen who migrated from the area had returned to their homes.
Bara bazaar was closed down by the government in September 2009 after a military operation was started in the area against the militants.
