LAKKI MARWAT: Three children were drowned in river Gambela in Kot Kashmir area of district Lakki Marwat on Monday. The victims belonged to the same family of Shah Quli Khan village and have come to his uncle’s home in Kot Kashmir.
Local sources said that the children were bathing in the river when the incident occurred and they were swept away by speeding waves of water. Local people said the media that among the victims are two brothers and their first cousin. Local rescuers have recovered dead bodies from the river and were handed over to the bereaved family.
Boy Drowns At Khanpur Lake
PESHAWAR: A Teenage boy on Monday drowned in the Khanpur Lake and lost his life, said Police sources. It was further informed that the boy has come with his family for a picnic at the Khanpur Lake from Islamabad.
According to police sources, the family belongs to Karachi Company area in Islamabad who has visited the lack for a picnic purpose. Police added that while the family was busy in the picnic, while their 14-year-old son Muhammad Ammad went into the lake for swimming, however, he drowned in the water. The nearby people jumped into the water to find out the missing boy; however, they failed to recover him alive.
The rescuers have fished out the body from the river. Khanpur police said that their team has also reached the spot and shifted the body to the hospital where after completion of legal procedures, it was handed over to the family.
From last so many years, there has been drowning incidents in Khanpur lack, especially during the monsoon season. The district administration Haripur has also banned swimming in the Lake but due to poor implementation of the ban every year, dozens of people lose their lives at the hand of the lake.
