BISHAM, May 28: A training workshop on disaster management was held in Shangla district.
The participants were trained about how to stay in contact with one another and the police in situations of calamities and emergencies like floods.
A large number of police officers and local elders participated in the workshop arranged by a social welfare organization, NIDA.
On the occasion, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Amjad Khan said it was the responsibility of the police to provide security to local people and help them in times of need. He said they would try to keep in touch with local people in case of disasters.
A participant of the workshop told TNN, “Suck kind of workshops need to be arranged frequently. Last time people suffered much due to lack of communication among them in the 2010 flood.”
