PESHAWAR, August 26: The trials of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa players for the National Junior Taekwondo Championship have concluded.
The National Junior Taekwondo Championship will begin in Islamabad from 3 September and teams from all the four provinces, Islamabad, FATA region, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir will contest in the event.
The trials were held under supervision of the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation general secretary Mr Murtaza Bangash and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Taekwondo Association president Mr Ilyas Afridi.
Judges on the occasion included Mr Muhammad Shiraz, Mr Muhammad Asif, Mr Ayaz Naik, Mr Yasin Javed and Mr Waqar.
During the trials, Mr Samsor Khan, Mr Abdul Hadi and Mr Muhammad Ismail were selected from Peshawar district, Mr Shah Fahad, Mr Adnan and Mr Bilal were selected from Kohat, Mr Muhammad Ismail from Swat and Mr Adnan Khan, Mr Shah Fahad and Muhammad Azam from Abbottabad district.
The female players include Mr Shamaila, Ms Amna, Ms Maimuna and Ms Anbar. The team from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will also be accompanied by manager Mr Shaukat Sakhi and coach Mr Yasin Javed.
More than one hundred make and female players participated in the trials.
