PESHAWAR: In the wake of merger of erstwhile FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the chief secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has directed the integration of Polio Emergency Operations Center (PEOC) of tribal districts with province on Friday.

Now, for better line of administrative management, there will be a single PEOC for polio eradication across the province which will supervise the work of emergency operation centre in the province.

The former FATA, EOC will work as a coordination unit for tribal districts which will be subordinate to the provincial EOC. It will report to coordinator for the province in official business.

Moreover, the coordinator EOC will represent the forum at provincial, national and international forum. All communication from and to the coordination unit for tribal districts will be invariably copied to provincial EOC while keeping the provincial team fully onboard.

None of the Polio Eradication initiative staff will be laid-off because of the integration at any levels from the provincial EOC and the coordinating unit for tribal districts. However, this does not apply to staff removed from the program due to accountability of poor performance.
