Tribal districts celebrate Independence Day with traditional fervour

JAMRUD: The people from erstwhile Fata, like always, celebrated the 71st Independence Day of Pakistan with traditional zeal and pomp.

At Bab-e-Khyber people came out in large number to celebrate the occasion. The national flags were hosted on the Bab-e-Khyber and all along the main highway.

People from all walks of life came out of their houses to celebrate Independence Day.

Besides youth, a large number of children and elders were also seen celebrating the occasion.

People decorated their shops with national flags to celebrate the occasion.

The youth were seen buying national flags, whistles, bugles and fixing the badges of the national flags on their shirts.

Besides shop owners, the vegetable and fruit vendors also displayed Pakistani flags at their workplaces to show their love for the motherland.

Elders on the occasion prayed for the security, solidarity and prosperity of Pakistan.

Tribesmen also arranged Independence Day celebration programs at their hujras (male guest house) in all tribal districts.

The patriotic tribespeople celebrating the occasion said independence is a blessing of Almighty Allah and Pakistan has given us everything.
