Tribal elders accuse NLC terminal of encroaching on their lands in Torkham

LANDI KOTAL: Elders of Khogakhel tribe in Khyber Agency on Tuesday staged a protest against National Logistics Cell (NLC) terminal in Torkham for allegedly encroaching on their lands in violation of an agreement signed at the time of selling a piece of their lands to NLC.

The protesting elders led by Awami National Party president Shah Hussain Shinwari alleged that they had sold 432 kanal land to the NLC.

They went on to say that the NLC was now, in violation of agreement, was encroaching on their lands and was depriving them of their lands illegally.

They threatened that they would not allow anyone to grab their lands and Afridi, Shalmani and Shinwari tribes would face them together.

They demanded of the government to take notice of the issue and vacate their lands immediately or else they would move the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
