PESHAWAR, 17 November: A function was organised by the Shohada Forum to pay tribute to the martyred students of Army Public School and College in Peshawar on Monday.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, provincial minister Mushtaq Ghani, poets and parents of the martyred students attended the ceremony at Nishtar Hall. On the occasion, national songs, poetry and debates were presented by the APS students to pay tribute to their martyred friends.

The mother of a martyred student, Asfand, told TNN that the parents of the martyred students are observing memorial day on 16th of every month since 16 December, 2014 when the terrorist incident happened.

“16 December was the most tragic day of our life which deprived us of our young children. We want to keep the memories of our martyred children alive and make their sacrifice for the country count,” she said.

She said the APS children offered an unprecedented sacrifice for the country which should never be forgotten.
