PESHAWAR, 9 December: Technology Upgradation and Skill Development Company (TUSDEC), a semi-government organisation, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on Thursday organised a certificates distribution ceremony among the male and female participants of a three-month course from Khyber Agency.

Khyber Agency Political Agent Khalid Mehmood was chief guest at the ceremony which was organised at a local hotel in Peshawar. On the occasion, the political agent distributed certificates of course completion among over 500 male and female participants from Bara sub-division of Khyber Agency. The handicrafts prepared during the training were also put on display at the ceremony. The political agent appreciated the efforts and skills of the participants of the training programme.

Participants of the training said it was a great learning experience.

“I have learned about skill of embroidery on clothes which is very useful for me. The purpose of the training was to enable us to start our own business,” Tehreem, a participant of the programme, told TNN.

“I learned the skill of making artificial jewellery here. I can now make ear rings, bangles, bracelets and chains after the three-month training,” Tehseem Waqas, another participant, said.
