PESHAWAR, November 15: An Anti-Terrorism Court in the federal capital Islamabad has declared Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Mr Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehrik head Dr Tahirul Qadri as absconders in a case concerning attack on a senior superintendent of police.
The SSP, Mr Asmatullah Junejo, was injured on September 1 when the activists of the two parties stormed the PTV offices and parliament during their protest against the government.
The court has directed the police authorities to arrest both the political leaders and ensure their availability in next hearing of the case.
The court had already issued warrants for arrest of Mr Imran Khan and Dr Tahirl Qadri in the matter.
On the other hand, Mr Khan says the government could create problems for itself by declaring him absconder. He said his party was committed to staging protest rally on 30 November.
Both parties launched sit-in and protests on 14 August in the country, demanding resignation of Prime Minister Mr Nawaz Sharif and re-elections in the country.
