PESHAWAR: Two Afghan policemen were killed in an insider attack in Kandahar province on Friday night.

The provincial governor’s spokesman was quoted as saying that the incident took place at a police outpost in Raghistan district where a police force member killed his two fellow officers and wounded three others.

The policeman who attacked his fellow officers fled the area. The attacker joined the police force members almost a year ago. No militant group claimed responsibility for the attack.

Meanwhile, explosions took place in front of three schools in Nangarhar province on Saturday morning.

The governor’s spokesman said two explosions occurred near Chaharbagh Safa and Pir Gilani high schools at 7:00am local time. A guard was slightly wounded in one the blasts. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blasts.
