Two babies die at Jamrud hospital

JAMRUD: Two newborn children died in Jamrud hospital on Thursday. The families have accused the doctor of not providing proper medical facilities to the ailing women due to which the children died immediately after birth.

The hospital sources have informed the media both the women were under treatment at the labour room of Jamrud Hospital, however, both the child expired immediately after their birth during treatment.

However, on the other hand, the families of both the women accused the hospital administration of negligence. They alleged at the time of children birth no doctor was available in the ward, while the only nurse who was present tried to provide first aid to the women and their newborn.

After the incidents, Dr Ayoub Afridi, district health officer Khyber visited the hospital where a lady doctor was on duty. Dr Afridi has assured the families that they will be provided justice. He said that committee has been constituted to investigate reasons behind the tragedy and bring to justice all those involved.

‘Woman gives birth on the road’

On the other hand, due to the ‘negligence of lady doctors’ of Katlang category D hospital, a woman has given birth on the road. Subhan Ullah, the husband of the woman while talking to media said that he shifted his wife to category D hospital, however, he alleged, the lady doctors refused to provide her proper medication.

“It was due to doctors negligence, that she gave birth on the road,” Subhan Ullah alleged. “When we shifted her to the hospital, A lady doctor told us to shift her to her private hospital.” Subhan, who is the resident of Katlang area, further informed that he has to shift her wife to the Mardan Medical complex in a critical condition, due to which she gave birth on the road. Subhan has accused the doctors of Katlang Hospital of playing with the lives of innocent people and asked the government, to take strict action against.
