PESHAWAR, 22 November: The two-day Art Tech Festival aimed to promote culture of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through information technology begun in Peshawar on Saturday.

The event was jointly organised by the KP Informational Technology Board, Peshawar 2.0 and World Bank at the Peshawar Museum. Over 20 stalls of IT equipment, handicrafts, traditional dresses, music instruments, Charsadda chappals and other items were installed at the festival which attracted the visitors. The people who came to attend the festival showed keen interest in the stalls.

The PTI Board Director Marketing Shahnaz Shamsher told TNN that the purpose of arranging the festival was to train experts in different fields for promoting their businesses through the use of information technology.

“We arrange such activities every year. Last year we arranged Digital Youth Summit and now we have arranged Art Tech Festival,” she said.

Ms Shahnaz said the cultural values are diminishing in face of fast advancing technology. “Our aim is to utilise advancement in IT sector to promote our culture,” she said.
