SHANGLA: Two people, including a woman, were killed in the name of honour in Martung tehsil of Shangla district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday, police said.

Police has arrested two brothers accused of the double murder. Police said the accused brothers, Shah Jehan and Muhammad Alam, killed their sister-in-law and a person after accusing them of having illicit relations. Police has also recovered the weapon allegedly used in the double murder from the accused.

Police said it received information that a man and a woman have been killed in Mandoria area. It said the policemen reached at the site of the murder and shifted the bodies to Martung Healthcare Centre.

While quoting an eyewitness, Shahid, police said Ziauddin and his cousin Tajuddin were coming home on a motorcycle when Shah Jehan and his brother Muhammad Alam opened fire on them. Tajuddin was hit by bullets and died. Police further said while quoting the eyewitness that the two brothers then allegedly shot dead the wife of their brother Ashraf Ali. The accused had suspicion that their sister-in-law had illicit relations with the Tajuddin.

Police filed a report of the incident and initiated investigation. The two accused brothers have been arrested and they are being interrogated.

Fraudsters deprive cattle trader from money

Like other parts of the country, several cattle markets have also been established in Nowshera district to enable the citizens to buy sacrificial animals for Eidul Azha.

Fraudsters are also coming to these cattle markets and duping the common people. On Monday, fake policemen entered a cattle market established near Rashkai Interchange, Risalpur, and deprived an elderly cattle trader of Rs464,000.

The elderly trader Anar Gul told police that two persons came to him in the cattle market and told him that he is a suspect and he will be searched. He said the two persons introduced them as CIA policemen and took him in their car. He said the fraudsters took money from him and disembarked him from the car near Shireen Kotha market. Anar Gul said he had accumulated money by selling his wheat crop which was snatched by the fraudsters.

Officials of Risalpur Police Station said they have received complaints of the activities of the fraudsters. They said the fraudsters will be arrested soon.
