PESHAWAR, 25 May: Two advocates, including the president of the Daska Bar Association, were killed in a clash between local lawyers and police in Daska tehsil of Sialkot district today.
The local police said that the district administration was carrying out an anti-encroaching operation in the city, which triggered a protest by lawyers and dwellers of the area.
Police added that Station House Officer Shahzad Warraich opened fire on the protestors to disperse the mob, which killed the president of DBA, Khalid Abbas and his fellow lawyer. Two other sustained bullet wounds. The SHO has been arrested. On the other hand, the legal fraternity has given a strike call across the country in protest against the killing of two lawyers in Daska. The local lawyers have attacked a number of police offices and vehicles.
