BARA, 6 November: The Health Department of Khyber Agency has set up two special centres for free of cost treatment of malaria patients in Shalobar area.

Huqman Khan, supervisor of the two malaria treatment centres, told TNN that the number of malaria cases was on the rise in the area and patients were facing many difficulties due to lack of proper treatment facilities. He said two centres were established in Nogazi Baba and Aqal Noor Killi area of Qambarabad to facilitate the malaria patients.

Mr Huqman said besides free of cost malaria treatment, the centres also create awareness among the people about prevention measures against the disease.

The local people have commended the establishment of malaria treatment centres in the area.

A resident of the area said there are many people who don’t know anything about malaria. “These centres are not only providing free of cost treatment, but also creating awareness among the people about the disease. More such centres should be established in tribal areas and mosquito kits should also be provided to people to prevent the spread of disease,” he told TNN.
