MIRANSHAH: Two employees of Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) were killed while two others injured when unknown assailants opened fire on their vehicle near Chota Data Khel area on Wednesday.
According to an official source, the MPCL employees were on the survey duty and were on the way back from the field when unknown men opened fire on them. Due to the firing two employees identified as Gul Daraz and Nawab Khan died on the spot while Nawab Khan and driver Ghawas Bakhsh remained injured.
The injured were shifted to hospital in Miranshah where they under treatment. Immediately after the attack, the securities forces cordoned off the area and conducted search operation for the arrests of the attackers.
The employees Mari Petroleum Company Limited have also been targeted in the past in the North Waziristan. In October 23, 2018, four workers of the company were shot dead after being abducted from the Speen Wam area. The workers – including a foreman, a driver, an FC security guard and a labourer of the company were shot by unidentified armed men and left to die in a vehicle which was also set on fire.
Minister Agriculture visit tribal district Kurram
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Minister for Agriculture Mohib Ullah Khan on Wednesday visited tribal district Kurram and discussed 10-year agriculture Annual Development Program (ADP) with the elders of the area.
Speaking on this occasion, Minister Mohibullah Khan said that billions of rupees have been allocated for the development of tribal districts to launch developmental schemes in the tribal districts. The Minister added that the government is making all efforts to bring the people of merged tribal districts into the mainstream.
The minister said that the KP government has taken initiatives to develop all the tribal districts and all the developmental schemes would be started with the consultation of tribal elders.
