PESHAWAR, 26 October: Two activists of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were killed and six others sustained injuries in a clash with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers in Lahore on Sunday night.
Police said the incident happened in Yaki Gate area of Circular Road where the PTI and PML-N activists came face to face during campaign for the upcoming local government elections. Two PTI activists, Khurram Shehzad and Malik Arif were killed on the spot in the clash. Both were stated to be real brothers. The PTI activists staged a protest in the area after the incident.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the matter and sought report from police.
The PTI leader Shafqat Mehmood said in a Twitter message that police have assured action against the people responsible for the incident. He said it will be a test case for Punjab police.
