PESHAWAR: The Supreme Court of Pakistan Judge Justice Qazi Faez Isa on Tuesday asked under which law the entry and exit of people is registered in Waziristan.
A two-member bench of the apex court led by Justice Qazi Faez Isa heard a case about bail of an accused, Sher Zaman. After hearing arguments, the court rejected the bail application of Sher Zaman.
The lawyer of Sher Zaman told the court that he was accused of injuring a person during a firing incident in Dera Ismail Khan, there are no bullet marks on the body of the person who claims he received bullets. Justice Faez Isa asked the lawyer that did he mean that the bullets may have been left inside the body.
The defendant’s lawyer further argued that the accused was not in DI Khan at the time of the incident and he was in South Waziristan. He said whenever someone enters or exits South Waziristan it is registered by the security personnel. He said the accused’s entry has been registered, while exit is not listed.
Justice Qazi Faez Isa asked under which law the entry and exit of people is registered in Waziristan. He said what is the concept behind registering of entry and exit of people to an area within the country? He said the court will nullify the registration right now.
The lawyer said he is not aware under which law the entry and exit is registered in South Waziristan. Justice Faez Isa asked the lawyer to file a petition in this regard and the court will see it.
