UPPER DIR, 07 August: A welfare organization known as “Khwaindo Kor” has distributed school uniforms, bags and stationary among 4000 students during a ceremony held here in Dir Khan Middle School on Sunday.

The ceremony was attended by provincial minister for Local Government and Rural Development Inayatullah, teachers and local government representatives of Speen Robi area.

Some students also presented tableaus and national songs on the occasion and received appreciation from the audience.

Addressing the ceremony, the provincial minister Inayatullah said that poor parents face difficulties in buying school uniforms, bags and stationary for their children. He termed  the distribution of these items by “Khwaindo Kor” as highly commendable.

Inayatullah, also announced to upgrade Dir Khan Middle School to high school within one year.

The poor 4000 students belonged to 12 schools of the area, revealed project officer of Khwendo Kor Saeedullah Khan. He added that Rs. 200,000 fund has also been provided to each school to provide all basic facilities to the students.

Sanaullah,a recipient of the package, told TNN, “We are very poor people. I am very happy that I got uniform, bag and notebooks. We thank the organization for providing us these items”.
