PARACHINAR: As part of the ongoing peace agreement, authorities in Upper Kurram demolished 10 more bunkers in the Piwar and Gedu areas, bringing the total number of demolished bunkers to 48.
Meanwhile, the prolonged closure of the Tall-Parachinar road for over four and a half months has caused severe hardships for residents. People are struggling with food shortages and lack of medical care, while students and travelers, including those heading abroad, remain stranded.
Provincial Assembly member Ali Hadi Irfani has urged the government to announce an emergency relief package for the approximately 500,000 affected residents.

According to official sources, the government has begun considering the proposed mechanism for collecting weapons from both parties. Once a suitable procedure is finalized, the stakeholders will be informed.
During a jirga held at the Kohat Commissioner’s House on Thursday, both parties shared their perspectives on the weapon surrender process with the government.
