KOHISTAN, May 2: The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has launched water supply scheme in Kohistan district at a cost of 10.27 million rupees.
TNN correspondent says six water supply plants would be set up in Upper Sharyal and Lower Sharyal areas of Palas union council. These plants will cater for 536 households.
A resident of Lower Sharyal told TNN, “Local women have been bringing water in pitchers, which is a hard task for them. People direly need clean drinking water in summer season when it is hardly available in the area.”
He added that hopefully the USAID project of water supply would improve living standards in the area.
