DI KHAN, 26 February: The administration has closed DVM [Diplomat in Veterinary Medicine] College due to protest of the students.

The students have been protesting for the last nine days, demanding the authorities of the Gomal University to withdraw the examination fees as the prospectus did not mention it when they took admission.

They said closure of college would not solve the problem but that the vice-chancellor should resolve the issue of fees.

“Our problem is that the exam fee that they are demanding now is not part of the prospectus. They charge us 405 rupees per each practical [paper]. Instead of remitting the fee, they closed the institution, which will ultimately waste our time and affect studies,” stated one of the student leaders addressing the rally.
