Walk held in Bara against the use of ice drug

BARA: The people of Bar Kambarkhel area of Bara sub-division of Khyber tribal district on Friday held a walk against increasing use of ice drug in the area.

District Education Officer Jadoon Khan Wazir, Assistant Education Officer Sher Zaman, tribal elders and students participated in the walk. Participants of the walk were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the use of ice and other drugs. The walk initiated from Madrassa Chowk and ended at Chargo Khwar.

Jadoon Khan Wazir said on the occasion that ice drug was ruining the lives of the youth in the area. He said this scourge will go out of control if timely action was not taken.

“Ice drug is a curse and it is our responsibility to save our young generation from this scourge,” he said. However, he said, the use of drugs cannot be controlled without the cooperation of the local people. He appealed to the Ulema, tribal elders and academicians to play their role in making the youth aware about the hazards involved with the use of drugs. He also called upon the administration to take strict action against people involved in ice drug business.
