Waziristan IDPs demand provision of ration, financial assistance

PESHAWAR: The displaced people of North Waziristan Agency on Friday staged a protest demonstration against closure of food package and non-issuance of Rs12000.

The protesters gathered outside Peshawar Press Club and chanted slogans against the federal government and Federal Disaster Management Authority.

They said that they have no facilities like water, health and education facilities in the area while the government has stopped its relief facilities.

They demanded that arrangements should be made for repatriation of IDPs who had gone to Afghanistan.

They said that if their demands were not met they would stage a sit-in outside Governor House in Peshawar.
