PESHAWAR: On the directions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General Police (IGP), Dr Sanaullah Abbasi, District Police Officer (DPO) Khyber tribal district Wasim Riaz has established a special welfare desk for police personnel in the district.
The welfare desk will facilitate the police personnel to apply for loans for their children’s marriages and get other financial assistance from the Police Department. The purpose of establishment of welfare desk is to provide timely financial support and assistance to police personnel in the time of need.
The welfare desk will provide help in cash for medical treatment, burial expenditure, dowry and loans for the construction of house. The police personnel in Khyber tribal district hailed the establishment of welfare desk and thanked the KP police chief for taking steps for their welfare.
Review of KP reforms status starts
The KP government has started review of the implementation status of reforms initiatives introduced by different departments.
According to an official handout, the review process has been initiated under the supervision of Chief Minister Mahmood Khan. A notification to this effect has been issued to heads of all the provincial departments with directives to formulate detailed presentation on the reforms initiatives including organisational restructuring, strengthening of legal framework, capacity building of human resources, procurement regime, service delivery, ease of doing business, e-governance, strengthening of monitoring regime and any other specific intervention.
The chief minister said that reforms process would be reviewed gradually and that the heads of provincial departments must ensure timely implementation of reforms initiatives. He said the ultimate goal of reforms was to improve the performance of departments and to ensure services delivery in public sector entities.
Digitalization of public facilitation departments
KP Minister for Science and Information Technology Atif Khan has directed implementation of digitalization in government offices aiming at maximum facilitation for masses.
At a briefing, he directed the establishment of citizens facilitation centre and implementation of information technology system in government departments. He directed to focus intra-departmental digitalisation and follow policy being implemented in developed countries.
The minister said that citizens facilitation centres were being introduced in merged tribal districts and five settled districts for improved service delivery and public facilitation.
He also directed expending of work on IT Park Abbottabad, Digital Complex Peshawar and Digital Complex Haripur.
