NOWSHERA: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami (JUI-S) secretary Ahmed Shah is missing from his house for the last four days.

The family of Ahmed Shah claims that he has been picked up by the personnel of law enforcement agencies. However, police has denied arresting Ahemd Shah.

Ahmed Shah was the first person to inform about the murder of the JUI-S chief Maulana Samiul Haq inside his house in Rawalpindi on 2 November. Ahmed Shah had also informed Maulana Samiul Haq’s son about the assassination.

Maulana Hamidul Haq, son of Maulana Samiul Haq, said Ahmed Shah is missing since the last four days and his mobile phone is switched off. He said either Ahmed Shah has gone into hiding, or the law enforcement agencies personnel have arrested him for interrogation. He said police visited Akora Khattak only once and then did not contact the family of Maulana Samiul Haq after that.

Hamidul Haq said Ahmed Shah had told him that he had gone outside Maulana Samiul Haq’s home for 20 minutes and when he returned the JUI-S chief was lying in injured condition and later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. He said a delegation from Afghanistan had met Maulana Samiul Haq few days ago and had requested to help in initiation of peace talks with the Taliban, but he refused.

Rawalpindi Police says Ahmed Shah is not under its custody. However, it said Ahmed Shah is an important witness and his statement can help police in reaching to the killers.
