PESHAWAR: Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP) has intensified its cleanliness operation and revenue collection campaign in urban localities of Peshawar.
To this effect, Chief Executive Officer WSSP Engr Khanzeb Khan conducted surprise visits to different localities where he conducted door-to-door visits and urged consumers to pay their municipal services bills.
He held meetings with local elders regarding payment of municipal services bills and arrears and asked them to ensure timely payment of their bills as well as arrears for better provision of the services.
He also visited several commercial plazas, markets and car wash centers and urged them not to waste water.
“Consumers can pay their arrears in installments if they are unable to pay them in lump sum,” he advised them and made it clear that arrears would not be waived off no matter what.
He also went to zonal offices of WSSP and checked attendance of staff and status of revenue collection.
Engr Khanzeb directed the revenue collection staff to ensure timely collection and warned them of strict disciplinary action in case of laxity in this regard.
He met with traders, shopkeepers, elected representatives of District Government Peshawar and local elders and appealed to them to dispose waste generated from their houses at proper places.
Khanzeb Khan heard their complaints regarding water supply and sanitation and asked the concerned zonal manager to address them within 24 hours.
He urged shopkeepers and locals to give up using plastic bags and dispose them at WSSP containers instead of throwing them in drains and open spaces. He sensitized them about the hazards of the non-degradable plastic bags.
The Khanzeb Khan urged the elected representatives to lodge their complaints on Safa Pekhawar app or call on WSSP Complaint Cell number 1334 regarding water and sanitation. He assured them that their complaints would be addressed within 24 hours.
