PESHAWAR, 1 July: Pakistani leg-spinner Yasir Shah has claimed ninth spot in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test rankings.

Yasir Shah was previously placed at 14th position in the Test rankings. However, he entered into the top 10 after outstanding bowling against Sri Lanka in the Test series. The Swabi-born leg-spinner got seven wickets against Sri Lanka in the first Test and grabbed eight wickets in the second Test.

He is now just 10 points behind Sri Lankan left-hand spinner Rangana Herath who sits at the eight position.

Yasir Shah also has the distinction of getting fastest 50 Test wickets from Pakistan.
