PESHAWAR, 10 January: Pakistan’s match winning leg spinner Yasri Shah has decided to file an appeal in the International Cricket Council (ICC) against his suspension for testing positive of a prohibited substance.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has informed ICC about Shah’s decision and the world cricket governing body will now constitute an independent tribunal to hear the appeal.

Yasir Shah has stated that he had mistakenly taken his wife’s blood pressure medicine and he was unaware of the substance contained in it.

ICC has temporarily banned Yasir Shah for testing positive, however, experts say if his appeal is rejected, he may face a ban up to four years.
