PESHAWAR, 1 October: Youm-e-Ashur is being observed throughout Pakistan, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA, today (Sunday) with solemnity to mark the martyrdom day of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).

Mourning processions are being taken out from KP, FATA and rest of the country for which strict security measures have been adopted. Like Saturday, mobile phone service remained suspended in sensitive areas on Sunday as part of security measures.

The district administration of Peshawar said 12 mourning processions will come out from different imambargahs today which will pass through their traditional routes. Fool-proof security measures have been adopted for the mourning processions. CCTV cameras and additional check posts have been set up in the city. Additional security personnel have also been deployed in the areas bordering Khyber Agency.

People are also facing difficulties in their travel due to closure of different routes. Mobile phone service closure has also caused difficulties for people.
