PESHAWAR, May 24: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Young Doctors Association ended their strike after the government agreed to fulfil their demands.

Members of the association met the Chief Minister, Mr Pervez Khattak, and discussed with him their demands of service structure and time scale.

TNN correspondent says the chief minister has agreed to some of their demands, prompting the young doctors to end their protest.

The president of Young Doctors Association at the Khyber Teaching Hospital, Dr Amir Farrukh, told TNN, “Our demands include: the young doctors who come for training should be paid salaries; trainee medial officers must be paid equal to the medical officers and the doctors must be promoted after five years of service.”
