PESHAWAR, 25 June: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has selected Pakistan’s former Test cricketer Zaheer Abbas as its president.

He was elected as president of the ICC at its annual meeting in Barbados, West Indies. He is the second Pakistani to be elected for this coveted post. Ehsan Mani was the first ICC president from Pakistan who was elected in 2003 and 2006 for the post.

Mr Abbas has represented Pakistan in 78 Tests.
